Frequently Asked Questions
Reliability & Trust
CV Scanner and CV Ranker AI are decision-support tools. They help you review CVs faster, identify weak points, and compare candidates against a job description.
The analysis looks at:
- CV structure, readability, presentation, and formatting
- Experience, skills, education, achievements, and red flags
- Relevance to a job description when one is provided
- Recruiter-style strengths, weaknesses, and improvement priorities
Important: AI output is advisory. It should help your judgment, not replace human review.
We handle CV data carefully because CVs can contain personal information. In practice:
- Uploads are transmitted over HTTPS
- Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not store card numbers
- Your account is managed through Firebase authentication
- Analysis history may be linked to your account to provide the service and support
- You can contact support to request account or data deletion
CV Scanner converts your PDF into page images and asks the AI to read the content. Most normal CV PDFs work well.
For best results: upload a clear PDF, avoid blurry scans, avoid tiny text, and keep the file under 10MB.
Yes. AI can misread a document, miss context, or overstate a concern. Always review the result before making an application or hiring decision.
If an output is clearly wrong because of a technical issue, contact support with the account email and a short description of what happened.
If your account has enough balance for score-only access, CV Scanner shows the score first and keeps the detailed analysis blurred.
You can unlock the full analysis from the result page if you have enough scans available. If not, the paywall opens so you can top up.
Score & Improvements
A low score can come from unclear layout, missing evidence, weak alignment with the job description, incomplete sections, readability issues, or serious red flags.
The detailed analysis explains the main deductions and suggests what to improve first.
Generally, a score above 85 means the CV is closer to application-ready. A score from 70 to 84 is usable but still worth improving. Below 70 usually means important revisions are needed.
The exact interpretation depends on the role, seniority level, and quality of the job description.
Account, Scans & Billing
CV Scanner: a full scan includes the score and the detailed analysis. Some accounts may receive a starter score-only scan before unlocking the full analysis.
HR Scans: CV Ranker AI uses one ranking unit per CV uploaded, so a batch of 10 CVs uses 10 rankings.
Your available balance appears in the top bar as scans or rankings, depending on the tool.
The scanner displays full scans. A full CV Scanner report includes both the score and detailed analysis. If you have a partial starter balance, you may be able to see the score but not the full report until you unlock it.
If your payment succeeded but the balance did not update, reload the page and check again. If it still looks wrong, contact support with the email used for payment.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Available payment methods can vary by country and by Stripe checkout settings.
CV Scanner does not store your card details.
Digital scan purchases are generally final once delivered. However, we may review refund requests when there is a valid reason, such as a payment issue, duplicate purchase, application bug, or service failure.
Please contact support with your account email, payment date, and a short explanation.
Yes. You can request account deletion or data deletion by contacting contact.cvbyai@gmail.com.
We may retain limited records when required for payment, fraud prevention, security, or legal compliance.
HR Scans / CV Ranker AI
HR Scans is the navigation label for CV Ranker AI. It helps recruiters and hiring teams compare multiple CVs against one job description and build a shortlist faster.
No. It ranks and summarizes CVs to support screening. A human should always make final hiring decisions and review any important context not visible in the CV.
Use one clear job description and upload CVs for the same role. Avoid mixing unrelated roles in one batch, because ranking depends on the requirements you provide.
